The experience starts early, at around 05:00 am or earlier, but we will contact you in the evening before your flight to confirm the exact time. We follow the Sun and we try to be airborne just before dawn, hence the early start. Once we meet and after a quick check-in, you will jump into our vehicles and we will drive you to the launch site we will use that day. We have many locations we use to take-off, always depending on the wind direction on the day. In case you don't know, hot air balloons just float, so we simply drift in the breeze. We tend to "fly-in" to the valley so we will drive upwind to take off. Ballooning is a hands-on experience and there are simple tasks for those who'd like to participate in setting the balloon up for the flight and there is certainly a job for everyone when we need to pack the balloon away after we have landed!. The flight itself will last about one hour and your pilot will use the winds at different heights to navigate to the most appropriate landing site. At the end of it all, we will drive back to Northam for a well-deserved breakfast.

Passengers exceeding 130kg are encouraged to contact our office staff for assistance in booking. 

For those who choose the transport from Perth and back option, the meeting location is the car park near Crown Casino, corner of Glenn Place and Victoria Park Drive. The drive is just over an hour and we will be returning you to this location after the flight.

The season runs from mid-April till 31st October.

Information for passengers who book return shuttle transfer from Perth (Burswood). The meeting location is the car park on Glenn Place adjacent to Parking Bay 6, opposite Crown Promenade. Parking here is free and has security cameras throughout. The drive is just over one hour, and we will be returning you to this location after the flight. Meeting times vary each month in our season, you will be informed of the meeting time via an SMS from your driver the afternoon before your scheduled flight. We follow the Sun, so meeting times can range from 4:15am in winter and as early as 2:15am at the end of our season. If you are unsure on the time for your scheduled departure please contact toll free 1800 225 566 before 7:00pm any day.

ACCESS
The vessels Mandjar & Dancing Dolphin have wheelchair / walking frame access, however on occasion other vessels may operate in their place. Please call Mandurah Cruises booking office on 9581 1242 to check what vessel is operating on the day you wish to cruise and discuss your access requirements. 

The maximum width of a wheelchair to fit on the ramp and vessel entrance is 71cm.

Terms & Conditions
Mandurah’s dolphins are wild creatures viewed in their natural environment. While sighting them is likely, it may not occur on every cruise. Our Dolphin Guarantee ~ included free-of-charge in every Dolphin Cruise & Views tour ~ guarantees your dolphin sighting. Cruise as many times as you like until you see them.

Our crew will determine whether there was adequate dolphin sighting during your cruise. This will be confirmed to all guests at the end of your tour and noted in our records. It can also be checked retrospectively with our Booking Office. 

Should there be dolphin sighting during your cruise, the Dolphin Guarantee is not valid for return trips.

Should a dolphin sighting not occur and you wish to use your Dolphin Guarantee to return, you are free to make another booking within 12 months of your original tour date, subject to availability.

You may return as many times as you wish until you are on a tour where there is a dolphin sighting.

Return bookings must be made by phone – by calling our Booking office on 08 9581 1242. Dolphin Guarantee bookings are non-transferable and can only be made for passengers who made the original tour booking.

Once you are on a tour with adequate dolphin sighting, the Dolphin Guarantee is no longer valid. Should you wish to travel on our Dolphin Cruise & Views again, a new ticket must be purchased. As a customer, you receive a 10% loyalty discount for future bookings of any Mandurah Cruises’ cruise or hire experience.⁵

Our Dolphin Guarantee is only available for fully-paid bookings with Mandurah Cruises ~ not available to FOC Companion Cardholders. Each customer receiving the Guarantee must have initially booked our Dolphin Cruise & Views tour.

Let us take you out to meet the Australian Sea Lions off Jurien Bay; you can join the tour as a Snorkeler or Non Snorkeler. Sea Lion sightings are guaranteed.

Turquoise Safaris offers an authentic offshore Eco adventure specialising in smaller, more personalised groups exploring the Jurien Bay Marine Park and is operated by a Jurien Bay Local with the knowledge to ensure you experience the best the area has to offer.

All equipment including wetsuits is supplied, we have snacks, light refreshments and sunscreen on board also.

Price per snorkeler is $145, $115 per Non Snorkeler and Children 6 - 12 years of age, $99 Children 2 -6 years. Infants under 2 years travel free.

The minimum number of people required is 6, the maximum we carry is 12. We allow 2 hours for each sea lion tour.

We have a maximum of 45 minutes IN water interaction time.

We meet at the Jurien Bay Boat Harbour off Harbour Drive, 'Sound Waves' will be parked up at the floating pontoon behind the information bay. Please be at the Harbour 15 minutes prior to departure of the trip.

Any Safaris cancelled by us due to unforeseen circumstances will either be rescheduled or fully refunded.

Embark on a captivating journey through the mysteries of the cosmos with the observatory tours at the Gravity Discovery Centre. Nestled under dark, pristine skies,  the Gravity Discovery Centre & Observatory offers an unparalleled opportunity to explore the wonders of the universe. Guided by seasoned astronomers, visitors are treated to a mesmerizing tour of celestial bodies, distant galaxies, and cosmic phenomena. Our 5 large telescopes unveil the secrets of the night sky, while engaging explanations demystify complex astronomical concepts. Whether you're a seasoned stargazer or new to the wonders of space, the observatory tours at the Gravity Discovery Centre promise an unforgettable adventure that expands horizons and ignites a passion for the infinite realm above. The tour includes a 30 minute presentation, a laser tour to showcase constellations, followed by stargazing.

Stargazing visits are held regardless of the weather. If viewing through the telescopes is not possible, due to inclement weather, a fun and informative session will be held in the GDC Theatre and a cloudy night pass will be issued (freereturn).

The Gravity Café will be open until half an hour before your session starts and dinner bookings are preferred but not essential.

The Gravity Discovery Centre and Observatory works in partnership with Indigenous Tours to showcase cultural storytelling and Astronomy. Following storytelling the Indigenous constellations will be identified during a laser guided tour of the night sky, before moving onward to the observatory to gaze at the stars. The Gravity Discovery Centre and Observatory hosts an Aboriginal Storytelling and Astronomy night once a month. 

Public night stargazing visits are held regardless of the weather. If viewing through the scopes is not possible, due to inclement weather, a fun and informative session will be held in the GDC Theatre and a cloudy night pass will be issued (free return).

Walk with us at 'Karrgatup', the local Aboriginal name for Mount Eliza and Kings Park. You will learn of the hill's ancient past and continuing significance to Perth traditional owners, the Noongar people. Providing the opportunity to walk through the Park's beautiful native flora against the backdrop of the City skyline, this uniquely home-grown tour includes a Dreamtime story, traditional song and Noongar language, spoken by your Noongar guide and a chance for you and your group to experience our interactive cultural artefacts display, followed with Q&A.

Whaleshark observers will experience a snorkel on the beautiful Ningaloo Reef and will observe the whalesharks from the boat  closer, than any other tour.  If there are swimming spots still available you may be permitted to upgrade on the day of the tour. 

Note- Observers can snorkel the Reef only. DBCA Rules do not allow Observers to swap out, or swim with Whalesharks even when other swimmers drop out.

Observers can still enjoy a snorkel on the reef in the morning and also the afternoon if time permits. But cannot swim with a whaleshark in any circumstance.

Proof of Age required for Seniors and Family/Child Rates.        Minimum Age for any of our full day tours is 6 years Old.

Surrounded by an abundance of coral gardens, rocky ledges and intriguing dive sites, the Outer Reef or Muiron Islands are located about 20nm north east or around the west of Exmouth. Keep your eyes open during the 75 minute trip across to the Islands for ospreys, shearwaters, turtles, manta rays, dolphins, and during their migration, humpback whales.

We have a wide range of dive sites with a maximum depth of 20m, with the top of the reef at 4 to 6m deep and usually only gentle currents. The dive sites around the Outer Reef or Muiron Islands are suitable for level 2 snorkelers (over Six years of age) and divers. Swim-throughs and ledges provide plenty of places to search for shrimps, nudibranchs, eels, juvenile angelfish and other timid creatures. In mid-water and against the reefs look for friendly potato cod, large rankin cod, turtles, nurse sharks, soft coral gardens, anemones, clams and 100's of darting, colourful reef fish. Late in the year, manta rays grace several of our dive sites, too. A medical Questionnaire must be answered before taking this tour. Please contact us for full details.

Discover SCUBA Diving

Our Discover SCUBA Diving Experience is perfect for those who do not have time to complete an entire PADI Open Water Course and for those who just wish to have a taste of diving.  The Discover Scuba Diving experience with us will include discussing some basic dive theory with your instructor, introduction to dive equipment and two boat dives. We will visit 2 different sites, the same dive sites that our certified divers enjoy so you'll know you are getting the best the Ningaloo Reef has to offer.

The D.S.D. course is suitable for everyone from 14 years old; those under 18 will need the written approval of a parent/guardian. You do need to have basic swimming ability.  

Diving medicals are not required to participate unless you have an indicator such as (but not limited to) asthma. A Padi DSD online Form will need to be completed at time of booking.

A 'Yes' answer may definitely require clearance from a doctor before you can participate, NO Doctors are available in Exmouth to clear you for diving and you will only be allowed to snorkel.

No refunds or monetary downgrades are possible on the day of the tour if you suddenly notify us you answered a YES on the DSD Medical form due to the assignment of Instructors and limited seats on the boat.. And it is the responsibility of the persons who book or are taking the DSD, to ensure every & each person in the party has completed the online DSD forms prior to the date of the tour, bringing a 'Yes" answer to the attention of shop crew at Exmouth Dive at least 48 hours before the tour date.

NOTE!! The PADI DSD Forms will be checked out on the morning of the tour by your Instructor, upon which if you answered 'Yes' will result in you not participating in the DSD, but you will become a snorkeller. No refunds or monetary downgrades are possible on the day of the tour if we find an answer 'yes' on the questionnaire and you will only be allowed to snorkel.

Advance bookings are essential for Discover Scuba Diving.  This includes the use of all the necessary equipment air fills, transfers from your in-town Exmouth accommodation and 2 boat dives.  We require a minimum of two participants to conduct our DSD program; in the unlikely event that we do not have a second person by 4:30pm the day before your scheduled date you will have two options: 1 – a full refund or 2 – you can pay an additional fee and have a private one-on-one session.  

CERTIFIED DIVERS We will need to view your Scuba Certification on the morning of the tour on pickup as you enter the Bus.

* Certified Divers must have a logged dive within the past 12 months to participate on our diving tours. If you do not have a recent dive, you'll need to complete a *Pool refresher with us before heading out on the ocean dives, or engage a private guide Booked in advance at an additional charge, for an 'On boat' *refresher 

* POOL Refresher sessions prior to the tour date, are a simple review of basic dive planning, equipment, theory and dive skills. These sessions usually take 1.5-3 hours and include time in the pool, so you will need to wear your bathers and bring a towel. We schedule our refreshers on demand at additional charges.

Sit back for a cruise as we travel out to our various sites around the Ningaloo area. We get to snorkel with gorgeous colourful fish, corals, with opportune sightings of Turtles & much more! Then we often venture out to look for mantas or whales, during the season, from the deck of one of our big stable boats. Get ready for an added bonus of humpback Whale watching in Whale season. Join us for a half day sea kayak and snorkel Turtle Tour adventure in the wildlife-rich Bundegi Sanctuary Zone, in amazing Exmouth Gulf, amongst the northern stretches of World Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef. On our Turtle Tour, look for turtles in the shallows from your kayak; rays, baby reef sharks and birds including osprey are also commonly seen. Take the opportunity to snorkel from your kayak amongst the sheltered coral gardens and enjoy the colourful fish life.

With pickup from your Exmouth accommodation, starting 15 minutes before the tour start time on the day. The tour start time varies each day to work around the high tide, which gives us the best wildlife viewing opportunities.

You will then take the short 15 minute drive to the tour departure point; along the way your guide will fill you in on some of the interesting local history and points of interest. Once you arrive at the kayak launch area, you will be kitted out with all the equipment you'll need, and your guide will give you a paddle and safety briefing.

It's then time to paddle along the coast in this wildlife hotspot, looking for turtles, rays, schools of fish, and baby reef sharks from your kayak. Kayaking is a super fun way to explore Ningaloo! Your guide will be with the group at all times, to point out wildlife, answer any questions, and lend a helping hand when needed.

Depending on the day, you may head out for a snorkel from your kayak shortly after launching; or you may kayak along the coast spotting wildlife and then take a short break on the beach to stretch the legs, and enjoy a snack before snorkelling. Either way, once you slide into the water to snorkel amongst the coral formations, you'll be amazed by the incredible marine life at our snorkel site.

Towards the end of the tour you will paddle back to the launch site, and after loading the kayaks back on the trailer, begin the return journey to your accommodation. Your guide will farewell you with some memories to last a lifetime, and a promise to have photos of your kayak and snorkel Turtle Tour adventure uploaded as soon as possible.

Cancellation policy: This tour has a 72 hour cancellation policy. Cancellations made within 72 hours of tour departure will incur 100% of the tour cost. Cancellations made outside of 72 hours will receive a full refund, minus any booking fees already paid.

Whaleshark & Whale Swimming Participants THIS TOUR IS - FOR GOOD SNORKELLERS ONLY! -  

We will Target either Humpback Whales or Whalesharks 

 Being wild animals every day is unique and our focus is on humpback whales, but the conditions and animal behaviours are not always just right enough to swim with humpback whales. We don't know until we get out there what will be accessible, how the whales behave or if there is a whaleshark. What we do know is that we will have small groups, our own plane and the best crew to get the best result possible on the day.

From July until October we are authorized to operate tours where guests may enter the water when the whales are relaxed, with a maximum of  group of 7 swimmers plus a guide & Videographer in the water at a time, while non-swimming guests observe the whales whilst the boat is manoeuvring as close as 75 meters! This is closer than any other whale watching cruise in Australia. This will give you a very special view for non-swimmers to enjoy the whales as they display their natural behaviours. 

FREE Video & Pictures of the day Included. We will copy onto your USB which will need 3Gb of space. Not included is an 8Gb Humpback or Whaleshark souvenir USB which may be purchased as an Extra. Pictures and Video will be available at our shop in the Mall next to the bakery, after 9am the following day. If you are leaving early we can post the USB at the nominal postage charge for your home location.

The swimmers, with the careful watch of their guide, will slide into the water and approach the Humpback Whale or whaleshark. We have strict distance guidelines and safety is paramount in these very special encounters. Swimmers can approach as close as 30 meters from the whale which will provide an excellent surface view of the animals and allow the swimmers to hear their beautiful songs. The whales are curious and are allowed to approach us within 15 metres giving us a unique close encounter.  Our dedicated spotter plane pilot personally talks via radio, to the in-water guide to ensure a great interaction.

Before entering the water near a whale or whaleshark, swimmers will be required to take a quick in water swimming assessment as required by our license conditions. You must be physically fit, over 13years old, MUST be a good snorkeller and have snorkelled within the past 6 months to be eligible to enter the water with a whale.

Whale watchers will experience a snorkel on the beautiful Ningaloo Reef and will observe the Humpback whales from the Humpback Swim Boat, closer than any other whale watching tour.  If there are swimming spots still available you may be permitted to upgrade on the day of the tour.

Season: Year Round

The Tour: The tour begins with pick-up from your Exmouth accommodation starting just before 8am. We then take the journey into Cape Range National Park. Depending on the launch site for the day, this may take 40 - 50mins. Upon arrival at the launch site, you will get fitted out with all the gear needed for the day, acquainted with your kayak, and your guide will give a safety briefing before heading out for the day.

Sea kayaking is a fantastic way to explore the sheltered lagoons and beautiful beaches of Ningaloo: you can paddle into paradise and leave the crowds behind. Along the way you'll look for turtles, rays, schools of fish, and coral life from your kayak. You may even see dugong and dolphins. Enjoy the contrasting scenery of reef and range that this UNESCO World Heritage-listed area offers - all from the best seat in the house.

Snorkelling is included in this tour, and depending on the day this may be shore-based snorkelling (where we pull the kayaks up on the beach and swim a short distance from shore), kayak-based snorkelling (where we tie off to a mooring buoy or drop an anchor and slide over the side of our kayaks), or a combination of both!

The paddling and snorkelling are complimented with stops on the beach for morning tea and lunch, which are prepared fresh by your guide. We aim to provide healthy and delicious food; specific dietary requirements can be catered for with ample notice.

Your guide will choose the tour destination on the day to give you the best experience, depending on prevailing environmental factors such as wind speed and direction, tidal movement and swell conditions. We usually explore the lagoon areas between Ned's Camp and Lakeside or between Osprey Bay and Pilgramunna. 

No prior sea kayaking experience is necessary, our friendly guides will be with you every step of the way. You will need at least an average level of fitness to enjoy this tour.

If we need to be a little more conservative because of the wind direction that morning, we still choose launch locations to try to give you the best views at sunrise that the day can offer. Geelong City Council has come on board with us and has allowed us to use many of the city parks for taking off and landing...this allows us some spectacular flights over the city on many days.  Due to its proximity to the bay and Avalon Airport, some flights will be out to the West and North, like Bannockburn and Murgheboluc. Wherever we fly, you will enjoy spectacular views of the region in the early morning light.

In the Summer of 2017 and 2018, we started operations in Geelong a few times a week, weather permitting.  Enjoy the spectacular views from a balloon basket and experience this ancient sport in the Geelong area. We now fly regularly and plan to continue! Depending on the wind direction, we shall choose launch locations that keep us away from the bay and Avalon Airport, but trying at the same time to give you the best views at Sunrise that the day can offer. With arrangements now with the City of Geelong, on some days we even take off from the city parks themselves and this not only allows great views of the city but also of the bay and the Bellarine Peninsula. Flights are at sunrise so we meet early, normally one and a half hours before the sun comes up. In Summer this is as early as 04:30 a.m and in Winter 06:30. This early time allows us the best views in the early morning light and it also allows us to fly when the winds are light, which is ideal for ballooning.

We meet at the Rydges Hotel on the corner of Myers Street &, Gheringhap Street, where you can easily park your cars. From here you will jump into our vehicles, which will drive you to the chosen launch site for that day. The inflation of a balloon will take approximately half an hour and passengers are welcome to help us with easy tasks, making the experience very interesting for those passengers who enjoy a bit of activity. Once ready, we will take off and fly for approximately one hour using the winds to navigate directions to a good landing site. The pilot will fly at different heights, sometimes low and slow, at other times nice and high to get the views and no, you WILL NOT feel height sick...trust us on that one. Ballooning is a gentle sport and, funnily enough, you do not have the feeling of depth which is what makes people scared of heights. It is extremely, extremely unusual for anybody to be nervous during a flight...it is more like "I don't know what I was worried about!!" kind of feeling.

After we have landed, we pack the equipment away and drive you back to our original meeting point where many passengers chose to stay for a lovely (optional) breakfast.
